SRFDA unveils inspiring line-up of judges
The Scottish Retail Food and Drink Awards (SRFDA) has revealed this year’s extensive judging panel tasked with evaluating the very best from the Scottish food and drink sector.
More than 40 food and drink experts have already been appointed as judges with more to be confirmed in the near future.
All products entered in this year’s awards will be extensively sampled by the panel which represents a comprehensive cross-section of the entire food and drink sector covering all major disciplines to uphold the transparency and inclusiveness of our judging process, which lies at the very heart of the SRFDAs.
Their wide and varied skillsets and expertise are fundamental to the credibility of our Awards and ensure that the impartiality of our process is always upheld.
The panel includes experienced senior executives from a huge array of retailers, wholesalers, producers, trade bodies, influencers and experienced consultants including, among others:

- Asda
- National Trust For Scotland
- Huffmans
- Business Gateway
- Go Forth
- Spar Scotland
- The Cress Company
- Nisa Retail
- Scotmid
- Scottish Wholesale Association
- Sainsbury’s
- Scottish Grocers’ Federation
The expertise of the panel should give assurance to entrants that their products will receive a balanced, fair and thorough assessment and feedback.
The SRFDA panel will judge all products a range of vital criteria including:
- Taste, flavour, texture, aroma and appearance
- Price and value for money
- Ingredients and nutritional profile
- Packaging
- Labelling
- Innovation
