Aldi’s new Greyson’s 0% London Dry and 0% Pink non-alcoholic botanical drinks, have won silver medals at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC).
The drinks are produced by Scottish company, Spirits of Virtue, and are the non-alcoholic partners to Aldi’s Greyson’s Gin and Greyson’s Pink Gin. Both are now available in Aldi stores, priced at £8.99.
Spirits of Virtue’s USKO Nordic Berries – a fruitily flavoured, non-alcoholic take on vodka – went one better at the ISC, taking a gold medal. Meanwhile, its Seven Giants Reposado Style, an agave non-alcoholic drink, also won silver.
The entire Spirits of Virtue range is made using Deeside water, filtered through the granite rock of the Cairngorm mountains, and natural ingredients – with provenance of flavours at the core.
All of its products are vegetarian, vegan, low sugar and low calorie, and halal certified.
Spirits of Virtue worked closely with Aldi and with drinks expert and product developer Angela Mount to create the two Greyson’s 0% products.
Greyson’s 0% London Dry Botanical is based on a blend of botanicals, including alpine juniper, Indian coriander, Sicilian lemon, and Tahitian lime, for a bright and fresh taste with a sweet citrus tang.
Greyson’s 0% Pink Botanical includes English strawberry and Scottish raspberry natural extracts, with the aromas and flavours of summer berries.
Roddy Nicoll, CEO of Spirits of Virtue, said: “We are delighted to be working with Aldi and very excited about the launch of these products. The team, and all involved, have put a lot of hard work into creating and refining these two drinks to optimum quality.”
Angela Mount added: “In developing all these drinks, we try to get as close to the original style and flavours of the alcoholic versions, thus creating natural and authentic flavours. It’s great to add these further medals to our growing collection.”
