A trio of former Scottish Retail Food & Drink Award winners enjoyed further success at last week’s Scottish Gin Awards (8 November).
The event is one of the UK’s largest gin competitions; it sees judges blind taste close to 200 gins, all distilled in Scotland.
The top award, Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year, went for the second year in a row to North Uist Distillery from the Outer Hebrides. Judges praised the distillery as “a formidable business with an impressive range of gins”. It also won Best New Product of the Year for its Downpour Coast & Croft Gin, which picked up a Gold award at this year’s SRFDAs.
Linlithgow Distillery, which won Gold and Silver SRFDAs in 2022 for its LinGin London Dry and LinGin Navy Strength respectively, claimed two Gold Scottish Gin Awards: Four Marys Subtly Spiced was named Herb & Spice Flavoured Gin of the Year while LinGin Cask Aged #3 – Oloroso Cask triumphed in the Cask Gin of the Year category.
Finally, North Point Distillery in Caithness was victorious in the London Dry category for its Crosskirk Bay Gin, which previously won a Bronze SRFDA in 2021.
