Scotmid has announced a 12-month commitment to support the SGF Healthy Living Programme’s (HLP’s) Welby Breakfasts initiative.

The partnership will ensure that more than 4,600 children in high-deprivation areas start their day with a nutritious meal, benefiting 16 primary schools within Scotmid communities.

Lynne Ogg, Head of Membership & Community Engagement at Scotmid, said: “Our core purpose is to make a positive difference in our communities. By ensuring children start the day with a nutritious breakfast, we’re helping to set them up for success in the classroom.”

The HLP recently celebrated 20 years of promoting healthier diets. Over two decades, it has engaged with more than 37,000 pupils across Scotland through the Welby Breakfasts initiative.

Gillian Edgar, HLP Field Manager, added: “We are delighted to have Scotmid’s support for this vital initiative. Ensuring children start their day with a healthy meal makes a huge difference in their ability to learn and grow. It’s fantastic to see such a strong community commitment to improving the lives of young people.”
