Scotland Food & Drink is hosting its first ever Excellence Summit on 9 October, which aims to provide businesses with “success strategies for sustainable growth”.
To be held at the Double Tree Hilton in Glasgow, the event combines the previously separate annual industry conference and Excellence Awards for the first time in a full day and night of networking, insight and celebration.
The conference element of the summit has been revamped to be more interactive and provide attendees with even more valuable and actionable insights. The itinerary of keynote speeches, breakout sessions and panel discussions will allow businesses to engage with dynamic leaders in the sector, covering economic insights, innovation, consumer trends, sustainability, branding, and growth strategies.
This year’s Excellence Awards will comprise of 14 tasted awards and seven business categories. All products entered into tasted categories are sampled and assessed by an expert judging panel that includes buyers from major retailers, wholesalers and foodservice, as well as journalists and independent venue operators.
Iain Baxter, chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink, said: “Scottish food and drink businesses are underpinned by people, passion, and perseverance. Bringing together the Excellence Awards and industry conference into The Excellence Summit will only help to create a day of unmissable insight and celebration to chart future successes and celebrate current ones.
“The theme of sustainable growth is central to our national strategy, ‘Sustaining Scotland. Supplying the World.’, opening up new markets and building the value within the Scottish food and drink industry. The conference will support businesses to realise the £4bn economic opportunity we have to grow, and the awards will celebrate the products and businesses at the forefront of our dynamic sector.
“Whether you’re a start-up or a highly developed global business, there is something for everyone at the Excellence Summit.” Early bird tickets for the full summit, conference or awards will be available at a discounted rate from 13 June.
Businesses have until 19 June to enter The Excellence Awards.
