Scottish food & drink industry stalwarts, Strathmore Foods and Simon Howie, have joined forces for the ultimate Christmas combo – Pigs in Blankets Macaroni Cheese.
Made using locally sourced ingredients, the new ready meal lands in Asda stores across Scotland just in time for people to load up on their festive food favourites.
Julie Nisbet, managing director at Strathmore Foods, explained the move into festive fusion cuisine: “We knew we wanted to bring something unique to the Christmas table this year.
“Pigs in Blankets Macaroni Cheese brings together our much-loved McIntosh macaroni cheese with pigs in blankets from another top Scottish supplier Simon Howie.
“We haven’t produced limited-edition festive meals before so are very excited to see them for the first time on Asda shelves across Scotland.’’
The two suppliers have worked together since 2015.
Steven Lynn, commercial director at Simon Howie Foods said: “Customers love seeing their favourite Scottish brands working together, especially at this time of year and by joining forces we are able to delight them with a festive ready meal that brings together two of their favourites in one dish! Macaroni cheese topped with pigs in blankets! What’s not to love!”
