Oatcake maker Nairn’s has appointed a new managing director, Colin Dingwall, and a new marketing director, Kevin Butterworth.
Dingwall is currently Nairn’s finance director and will assume the MD mantle in May 2024. He was previously director of finance and investor relations at C&C Group and, prior to that, held a number of senior finance rolls at Heineken UK.
Current Nairn’s boss Martyn Gray is retiring but will remain on the Board as a non-executive director. During Gray’s 10-year tenure, the business has grown significantly, and he has successfully navigated extremely challenging market conditions in recent years.
Nairn’s chairman Mark Laing commented: “I’d like to put on record my thanks to Martyn for his enormous contribution to Nairn’s over the last 10 years as MD.”
Butterworth is already in post, having previously been chief marketing officer at Symington’s for five years and prior to that he was marketing and international sales director at Seabrook Crisps.
Laing added: “I am delighted that Colin will succeed Martyn as managing director. As finance director for the last seven years, Colin has steered the finances of the business with a firm hand and has provided excellent strategic guidance to the company. Kevin comes to us with extensive marketing knowledge and experience and is well equipped to take the Nairn’s brand on to new heights.”
