The Scottish Retail Food & Drink Awards (SRFDA) is delighted to welcome the Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) as a sponsor for 2022.
SWA said: “The Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) is the official trade body representing Scotland’s food and drink wholesaling businesses and distributors. Working with our members, we help to not only protect our sector but promote the benefits and importance of our £2.9bn industry within Scotland’s food and drink supply chain.
“SWA, while dealing with the pandemic and securing Scottish Government financial support for wholesalers over the past year SWA, has also been looking to the future and our sector’s rebuild strategy.
“In late 2021, in conjunction with SAOS, SWA’s ‘Delivering Growth Through Wholesale’ project was launched. This is a ground-breaking training and educational programme, designed by wholesalers to help local producers understand wholesale and the opportunities it creates as a route to market.
“Combined with our ‘Decarbonisation of the Wholesale Industry’ project, sponsoring the Scottish Retail Food & Drink Awards strengthens SWA’s commitment to our members, and local producers to help create a strong, sustainable local food and drink supply chain in Scotland.
“Wholesale offers producers the benefit of using existing ‘wheels’, spread over 70 different wholesale distributors, to deliver local products into the 5,000 local convenience stores and 30,000 hospitality, tourism and leisure venues the length and breadth of Scotland.
“SWA wants to work with entrants of the Scottish Retail Food & Drink Awards to create new opportunities and grow their business through Scotland’s wholesale industry.”
