The Scottish Retail Food & Drink Awards (SRFDA) is delighted to welcome Invest NI as a sponsor for the second consecutive year. Invest NI will once again be sponsoring the UK Producers category which is open to UK producers targeting listings in Scottish stores.

Invest NI said: “Northern Ireland suppliers received an impressive number of awards in 2021 and benefited hugely from the comments and feedback received from the judging panel. Many have gone on to develop new business relationships in Scotland, with some entering the market for the first time and others exploring new sales channels.

The food and drink team at Invest NI is focused on working with local suppliers of all sizes to lend support and advice to help them grow their business outside Northern Ireland. We look forward to reconnecting at UK tradeshows this year, starting with IFE in March.

We’ll carry on with our popular online product showcase events too, which have proved popular with buyers who are short of time or unable to travel. Suppliers have won new business as a result of events we’ve hosted for individual retailers and have also participated in capability development initiatives we’ve run on behalf of industry partners or as part of our own small business programme.

Our food and drink community has a high level of small and medium-sized family-owned businesses. This is reflected in great flexibility, attention to detail and commitment to local provenance. In terms of how people like to do business, there is a clear affinity with Scottish customers, who appreciate our short supply chains and dedication to productive long-term trading relationships.
