Aldi Scotland has unveiled a new product for Valentine’s Day – the Specially Selected Champagne and Vintage Cheddar Cheese Bake.
The indulgent bake combines Barber’s cheddar cheese with Aldi’s Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut.
Priced at £3.49, it comes in a ceramic dish and is marketed as an ideal appetiser for Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s, or a solo night in.
The cheese bake is made by Castle MacLellan, a Kirkcudbright-based producer that has been supplying Aldi Scotland since 2019.
Rachael Fisher, Head of Sales at Castle MacLellan, said: “We’ve been working hard to get this product ready for lovers this Valentine’s Day; it’s a robust and flavoursome dish that provides an ideal centre point for the 14th of February and beyond.
“Working with Aldi Scotland has been a real coup for our business. We work closely with the buyers to understand what Scottish consumers are looking for and now have an excellent range of products available across the country for everyone to enjoy. We’re really proud of Castle MacLellan’s Scottish roots, so being able to serve the Scottish people is a real win.”
Castle MacLellan has more than 40 years of experience producing pâtés and cheese products. It is owned by the Kavli Trust, a charitable foundation that reinvests profits to support communities in Scotland and around the world.
The Champagne and Vintage Cheddar Cheese Bake is available at all 109 Aldi stores in Scotland, while stocks last.
