The Glenturret Distillery has released the second edition in its three-part series, The Glenturret x Jaguar C-Type.
The series celebrates the success of the car in the 1953 Le Mans 24-hour race, when C-Types finished first, second, fourth and ninth. It was also the first time the event’s winner clocked an average speed of more than 100mph.
With all that in mind, the release is described as “a testament to precision, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence”.
The whisky is a minimum age of 32 years old and was drawn from five casks. Oloroso sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads deliver traditional rich fruit and aromatic spices, and a single Pedro Ximenez sherry-seasoned American Oak hogshead imparts sweet vanilla and light oak.
The Glenturret x Jaguar C-Type is limited to a total of 220 bottles – a nod to the C-Type’s 220bhp engine that is also reflected in the whisky’s £2,200 selling price.
