Preserves producer Galloway Lodge has inked a deal with Sainsbury’s, which will see the retailer list five of the company’s products in its Scottish stores.

The range comprises Poacher’s Pickle; Beetroot Chutney; Mango & Chilli Chutney; Tomato & Chilli Chutney; and Perfect Piccalilli.

“We hope this is going to be a great success so if you’re out and about in the next few weeks make sure to drop into a Sainsburys and buy a jar of your favourite chutney!” the company said on LinkedIn.

This is the latest development for the producer, following news of the expansion of its production kitchen, which will give it four times its current production area and see a “significant increase in production capacity”.

“Once complete we will initially see a capacity increase of 30% with scope for us to potentially double capacity by the end of 2022. This also will complete nearly £350k capital investment in our manufacturing business down here in rural Scotland since January 2020,” General Manager Ruaridh Hesketh said.
