BrewDog has launched a 4.5% guava-infused Pride lager to mark its partnership with MindOut, a mental health service run by and for LGBTQ people.
The Brighton-based charity offers members a safe space to discuss their concerns with professionally trained representatives, or with others in the community, both in person and through its online support services.
BrewDog Pride is available online, in BrewDog bars and exclusively at Tesco. Packs of 8 x 330ml cans have an RSP of £11.95, with 50p from each sale going directly to MindOut.
BrewDog is also giving all the profits from sales of pronoun pin badges and Pride t-shirts to further support MindOut’s mission to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities. The Ellon-based brewer already provides pronoun badges for staff to wear as part of its commitment to making every employee and customer feel welcome, safe and included in its spaces.
Lauren Carrol, Chief Marketing Officer at BrewDog, said: “We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to making BrewDog a great place to work, and to support LGBTQ communities that many of our employees and customers are a part of.
“Through our partnership with MindOut, we are delighted to support the fantastic work they do in Brighton and beyond. We take inspiration from the work they do as we continue to evolve and develop our diversity, equity, and inclusion policies.”
Erica Thornton, Interim CEO at MindOut, said: “We are thrilled BrewDog has chosen to support MindOut LGBTQ Mental Health Service.
“The generous donations from BrewDog will help to fund these hugely important chat services and continue our work creating a world where the mental health of LGBTQ communities is a priority, free from stigma, respected and recognised.”
