Angus-based Arbikie Distillery has opened its distillery experience featuring tasting tours at Lunan Bay on Scotland’s east coast.
Three hour-long tours are available for guests, including the Whisky Experience, the Gin & Vodka Experience, and the Cocktail Experience.
The Whisky Experience takes guests on a tour of the distillery’s golden crop fields where the whisky journey begins, learning about the different grains, discovering the copper pot stills and taking in the aromas of maturing casks from the traditional dunnage warehouse. A tutored tasting of two drams including expressions of our 1794 Highland Rye Single Grain Whisky then follows with one of the brand’s ambassadors.
The Gin & Vodka Experience will allow guests to discover how the brand creates its base spirits from the crops it grows, including potatoes, wheat, rye and peas, before visiting the copper stills. The experience finishes with a tutored tasting of three spirits from Arbikie’s award-winning range.
Finally, the Cocktail Experience includes a journey through the Arbikie Highland Estate on a tour from field to bottle starting with crops in the field, then moving onwards to see how the distillers and copper stills create spirits suitable for cocktails. Afterwards, one of the distillery’s ambassadors will create two cocktails to be enjoyed at the bar.
