Aldi Scotland’s in-store Scottish Beer Festival is back today (Thursday 29 August), featuring five returning fan favourites alongside the exclusive launch of Innis & Gunn’s brand-new Tequila Cask Blonde beer.
The Innis & Gunn Tequila Cask Blonde is matured using specially selected real tequila casks, combining the smooth character of a blonde ale with distinctive notes of tequila. The flavours from the casks provide the distinctive citrus and spice tequila character, while the sweetness from the oak adds depth.
Aldi Scotland’s line-up also includes the return of Broughton Ales’ Bring Out The Imp! – a rich, full-bodied imperial stout with a soft liquorice finish.
It is joined by a brace of brews from Loch Lomond Brewery’s Only Happy When It Rains IPA, a sweet and juicy beer with citrus notes, and Helles Glen Pilsner, a light and citrus beer with a balanced malty flavour.
The lineup is completed by Cold Town Citrus DIPA, a vibrant zesty beer with a mango aroma and a hint of caramel sweetness, and Velo Radler from West Brewery, a fresh hazy brew, blended with blood orange soda.
Richard Holloway, Regional Managing Director for Aldi Scotland, said: “We’re very pleased to be the first UK supermarket to bring Innis & Gunn’s Tequlia Cask Blonde beer to market.
“The craft beer industry continues to thrive in Scotland, while tequila has seen a rapid rise in popularity, so I’m sure this will be a huge hit with customers.
“Our Scottish Beer Festival is always a highlight, and this exclusive launch represents our ongoing commitment to supporting Scottish breweries, while offering customers the opportunity to sample locally produced, top-quality brews at everyday prices.”
