Millport-based gin producer, Isle of Cumbrae Distillers (IOCD), has launched Lion Rock, a two-strong range of blended whiskies.
Lion Rock takes its name from a prehistoric rock formation on Cumbrae that legend has it was formed as the result of a battle between the forces of good and evil.
The range includes a peated and an unpeated blend, which represent the darker and lighter sides of the aforementioned conflict.
Lion Rock Peated Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is described as a “rich whisky with peated, earthy, maritime notes and hints of salty sweetness”. Conversely, the unpeated blend offers “sweet aromas of toffee apple, home baking, and orchard harvest”.
Available in 70cl bottles priced at £46, IOCD said both “can be enjoyed by seasoned whisky drinkers or those being introduced to the dram for the first time”.
