Shore The Scottish Seaweed Co. (Shore) has launched its latest flavour of seaweed chips as it celebrates selling more than one million packets since last September.

Salt & Balsamic is the latest flavour created by the Wick-based brand and launched in Sainsbury’s Scotland stores this week (8 September).

Available in 80g share bags and 25g individual impulse bags, this new flavour joins Shore’s range of better-for-you seaweed crisps, which already includes Peking Duck, Sweet Sriracha, and Lightly Salted variants.

Shore sales have grown by 30% this year and the brand continues to expand its presence in major supermarkets, including Sainsburys, Tesco, Morrisons and Co-op. It can also be found in Holland & Barrett and Go Outdoors.

Later this month, the Salt & Balsamic flavour will feature in a limited-time promotion across all Scottish Aldi stores and will also begin rolling out to hundreds of independent retailers nationwide.

Keith Paterson, founder of Shore, said: “The new Salt & Balsamic flavour will make our seaweed chips ever more accessible. A twist on a classic crisp flavour, it has had incredible feedback from all who have tried it during our development process.”

The brand’s Peking Duck flavour was recently named a finalist for the Healthier Choice Product of the Year at Scotland Food and Drink’s Excellence Awards, while the Sweet Sriracha flavour has been nominated for Snacks & Accompaniment Product of the Year, with winners to be announced in October.
