Glasgow-based Kestrel Beer has launched two new small batch brews: Saison and Whisky Porter.
Brewed with Scottish nettles and seasonal elderflower, Kestrel Saison (ABV 4.5%) is an homage to traditional Belgian pale ales, offering citrus notes and a delicate spiced floral hop character. It is available in 330ml glass bottles with an RSP of £4.20.
The Whisky Porter (ABV 6.8%) is aged in Scotch whisky barrels and is highly roasted with rich nut, chocolate, and deep coffee notes. Full-bodied, it has a dry finish accompanied by a mild malt overtone. It too comes in 330ml bottles, RSP £4.60.
Meanwhile, the Kestrel lager range has been further extended with two new beers that join Kestrel Super Premium: Kestrel Premium (ABV 4.6%) and Kestrel Extra Premium (ABV 7%).
Nigel McNally, CEO and founder of Kestrel’s brand owner Brookfield Drinks, commented: “We are thrilled to introduce these new additions to our lineup. The Seasonal Elderflower and Scottish Nettle Saison and our Whisky Porter brewed in aged Scottish whisky barrels showcase our dedication to develop interesting and exciting properties that communicate the originality and personality of a beer that’s been enjoyed since the 1980s”.
