Stirling Distillery has launched a new blended malt to complement its current whisky range.
Priced at £30, Castle Rock is made from carefully selected Speyside single malts and is described as “a light, drinkable dram, perfect for Christmas”.
Taking its name from the distillery’s location on Stirling’s castle rock, the new whisky offers a mix of citrus and Caribbean fruit, with a hint of a green apple notes upon nosing. The aroma comes ahead of “a touch of fruitiness, malt, and a zesty hit”. A drop of water is recommended to open up the flavours.
The launch extends the distillery’s Sons of Scotland independent bottling range and follows its recent move into making its own whisky, the first of which will be available in late 2026.
Distillery owner Cameron McCann said about the new release: “We’re delighted with this blend which has resulted in a lovely – what I’d call a mid-week – drink. At 50% ABV we’re proud to add another excellent dram to our Sons of Scotland range”.
