Arbikie Distillery will host Tasting Tayside and Fife next week, a networking event that will see more than 30 food and drink producers from Angus, Dundee, Perthshire and Fife gather to showcase their wares.
The event will be held on Tuesday 13 June from 9 am to 12 noon and is free to attend. Local buyers are invited along to sample regional food and drink and network with potential partners.
Much like the SRFDAs, Tasting Tayside and Fife is intended to connect producers with chefs, retailers, distributors and anyone who sells or serves local produce to get more local products on local menus and shelves.
It is supported by Scotland Food & Drink and is jointly run by Food from Fife, Great Perthshire, Eat and Drink Dundee, and Appetite for Angus.
The event will also feature guest speakers including Will Docker from the Balgove Larder farm shop, who will discuss the importance of local when selling food and drink. Ernie Millar, key account & liaison manager for foodservice supplier Mark Murphy will also give an insight into wholesale distribution.
Fiona Richmond, from Scotland Food & Drink, said the event is a great opportunity for buyers to see the best that Tayside and Fife has to offer.
She added: “Food and drink is one of Scotland’s biggest and most lucrative industries. Events like Tasting Tayside and Fife boost awareness of regional produce and gives businesses greater access to the market. We would encourage any buyer passionate about the regions’ food and drink to take part.”
