Stirling Distillery has revealed its limited-edition Platinum gin in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Just 500 of these bottles have been created to pay homage to Her Majesty and her 70 years of service, designed by graphic designer Megan Raine and distillery co-founder June McCann.
The bottle celebrates the Stirlingshire nettles that give their gin the flavour of Stirlingshire’s countryside. Presented in a regal laurel wreath design with royal crowns hidden through the design, those who get their hands on a bottle can win tickets to a gin tasting at the distillery if they find the crown locations and tag @Stirlingdistillery on social media.
Made with botanicals including basil and citrus peel, the gin’s finish boasts peppery and spicy notes. By using local nettles the distillery is also working to provide a sustainably sourced spirit.
On 2 and 3 June, all distillery gin tastings in the Old Smiddy will be presented in tea sets for celebratory ‘G and afternoon tea’ tastings; tours can be booked online.
